Think of a country, where its so called super league’s regulations are changed overnight. For the sake of more games, more airings and more income, millions of football fans are condemned to empty stands, low quality games and a football shadowed by match fixing.
Think of a country, where the football played on the pitch is the least of the factors that is effecting the results. Where the Parliament, the Football Association, legislators, club officials, everyone except footballers have more say over the outcome of the game.
Think of a country, where political parties are dragged into football with their consent and the autonomy of football has been raped.
Think of a country, where the legislation passed just 6 months ago is trying to be changed as a result of the pressure of the football clubs, once the crimes covered by the legislation are under investigation and the indictments are underway. Both public conscience and universal justice norms are disregarded. Instead of fighting with match fixing, legislation wants to be transformed so that the penalties are more lenient.
Think of a country, where its football has been crushed by match fixing but everyone is more interested in saving the culprits than the football itself.
Unfortunately this country is Turkey.
Since the beginning of July 2011, we have tried to appeal to the international sports community to support us in our struggle against the match fixing scandal in Turkey. Finally the day has come and the indictment is announced publicly. The extent of match fixing, intimidation and extortion in the indictment is severe not only for football but also for any criminal act. But Turkish Football Federation is still evading to implement disciplinary actions and biding its time.
Now it is time for justice. We do not want to be a part of this wicked, unfair, political scenario. We again appeal to all the fans, football and sports officials and justice conscious people to put an end to match fixing in such a way that a strong message is given to the world that such acts are not to be tolerated. If dissuasive penalties are not given, our confidence in the fairness of football will be shattered to pieces. If football’s governing bodies look the other way while the spirit of the game is violated openly, doubt will cast over every single football game played in the world.
We also appeal to our President Mr. Abdullah Gul to keep standing firm against pressure to change the legislation.

Turkish Football is in a chaos because of match-fixing scandal,since 3rd July 2011. In this period, interest to football is decreasing day by day, due to impunity of quilties. In addition to this, both politicians in the country and Turkish Football Federation are working hard to hide this crime.
fb Club, which is the match-fixing centre of Turkey, has created a match-fixing lobby. Turkish Football Federation authorities, some of Turkish politicians, a big part of the media, are working hard at the service of this lobby. It is seriously spoken in Turkey that, this match-fixing lobby has paid 5 million Euros to media authorities in order to just mold public opinion. As following the media publishes, we can understand that, this claim is true.
For weeks, Turkish public is being tryed to make believe that match-fixing is just an unimportant crime, and we regret to inform that the lobby is successful in this case.
Football is a fair competition in its spirit. While Fair-Play spirit has to gain value, if participating in a crime like match-fixing which is a betrayal to football will not be punished, this will encourage whom intend to make these immoral acts, in the coming years. According to new legal regulations, the legal punishment for match-fixing is nearly nothing.
In Turkey, nowadays, the sports punishment for match-fixing is brought into question. Match-fixing lobby has begun to mold public opinion for not relegating the teams that are engaged in match-fixing. Even it is told that relegation will be excluded in Turkish Football Federation's regulations and 2010-1011 season will be considered as not played. According to this, in Turkey match-fixing will not require any criminal sanctions.
We know that Uefa, boss of football in Europe, react in zero-tolerance to a crime like match-fixing which offends against football spirit. We are now sure that match-fixing problem will not be solved in Turkey. We believe that you will not allow football to fade into background in a country of mostly young 70 millions. We want to continue to love football passionately. We can exactly say that, in a match-fixing dominated country, our love for football will not continue, and tend towards other areas.
Continuing of speedy corruption in Turkish football, which is a part of European football, will not harm only the brand value of Turkish football, but European football as well. For this reason, we want Uefa not to sit back and watch disgusting events occuring in Turkey. As long as you are late to intervene in the situation, Turkish football will be corrupted more.
